1) So very close
******************
Great news everybody! Last week two new investors approached me with what seems like the perfect deal. I don't want to jinx it but if it works out we could be starting full time production within weeks. They offered me a deal in which they would invest enough money to pay the wages for the crew as well as office equipment and studio space. In return they want a healthy return after profits and the option to take stock in the company. But where as my last big investor wanted upwards of fifty percent controlling stock these two gentlemen would be happy with ten percent.

But before we sign any deals and go computer shopping the crew and I need to sit down and hammer out a detailed production budget and timeline. After all, the investors need to know exactly how much money will be needed on a monthly basis and when they can expect to earn it back. I'm arranging to meet with the crew next week to take care of the budget.

The one thing that impressed the investors the most was the number of virtual pre orders we have for PWX. Remember the survey question and how many people I said expressed their intent to pre order? That blew the investors away. They could see in black and white an almost guaranteed return on their investment the day the game is released.

But one thing caused some concern. What guarantee do we have that the people who answered "yes" on the pre order question will actually follow through and not just walk away once the game is released and they spent all this money producing it? I didn't have an answer for them...

2) More moves

Presuming the deal will go through as planned I got to work compiling the move list reference material for the animators. Les T. and I spent a solid week making AVI files of each and every move we needed and so far we have over 800 AVI files ready to go. Only about 900 left to go.

Special thanks go to Shi-yu for making a killer VPW2 translation for us. The poor guy is working his ass off for the WGU. I hope one day we make enough money from PWX to at least fly guys like Shi-yu and Cube to Vancouver for a huge beer drinking bbq bash in their honor.

For those of you new to the newsletter Shi-yo and Cube are huge WGU supporters and have started the Official Unofficial fan site and message board over at www.WrestlingGamesUnited.com

3) New crew
************
Thanks to some personal referrals from Ono and Mike I am very close to adding a few new programmers to the crew. I hope to announce their arrival by next newsletter.

Well, another stellar week in the life of the WGU. Who'd have thought we'd get this far so soon? I guess when you're on to something special things just come together.

In the meantime and in between time, that's it. Another edition of Wrestling Gamers United.
