1)WGU fans don't let us down
****************************
Well, the day I've been worrying about for the last few months has
come and gone. The new WGU site opened ahead of schedule last week
and any worries I had about fan support were blown out of the water
mere hours after the site went live. True wrestling gamers came out
of the woodwork and slammed the WGU email account with words of
support and praise for not only the project itself but the individual
crew members as well. I personally feel completely validated as head
of this project thanks to the massive support we've received from you,
the real fans who want this game. It's one thing make a great wrestling
game but it's chances of become a reality are increased exponentially
when we see the sheer number of fans who want it to happen as well.
You came to our side and you didn't let us down. We promise to return
the favor.
2) Survey results
*****************
One of the biggest suprises came in the form of the responses to
the new survey on the WGU site. Sure, we knew that some fans had
mentioned pre ordering Pro Wrestling X and the fact that they trusted
us more than Yukes or Acclaim. But it still didn't prepare us for the
fan response when those questions were asked in the survey. Check it
out...
1-Will you pre order the game?
answer-85% YES
2-Which company do you trust most?
answer-88% Wrestling Gamers United
That's insane! But it just goes to show you what happens when you
treat gamers with respect and honesty like the WGU has. Thank you, guys.
Those are the kind of numbers that make investors turn their heads and
pay attention. Once again the WGU supporters come through for us.
3) New stuff on the site
************************
Get ready for another dose of "Holy Crap!" because a new animation
and character design have been added to the WGU site. Go to the
downloads section and see a sweet Downed Hurricana by Adrian K. and
a new character design of masked wrestler Tirador by the incomparable
Jessica S. And don't forget to email these fine people and let them
know what you think of their contributions to the WGU project!
4) Hunting for programmers
**************************
Our intrepid programmers, Ono and Mike, have politely pointed out
that it would take two coders almost four years to complete Pro
Wrestling X. They have since begun kidnapping other programmer
friends of theirs to help get this baby done a lot quicker. Don't
worry, it'll be done a hell of a lot sooner than that.
5) New WGU staff
****************
Aside from a few new programmers we'll also be adding at least one
new artist to the WGU crew. We'll make the formal announcement soon.
6) Official Unofficial Message board
*************************************
Many message threads have been started at various message boards
discussing Pro Wrestling X lately but one in particular has been
dedicated soley to the WGU and our game. Members of the WGU crew
have been known to drop in and clear up rumors and questions so it's
become a solid place to ask questions and get real answers.
Please check it out at www.WrestlingGamesUnited.com and click on
"message board". The guys who run this site have been good friends
to the WGU and we're happy to see their site becoming a popular
place for WGU supporters to hang out.
7) Crew meeting
***************
The WGU crew will be getting together for an important meeting this
Sunday afternoon so look forward to a lot of new info in the next
newsletter. Many exciting things happening :)
8) Email, oh God, the email
*********************
You all know how important it is to me to respond personally to each
of your emails and I still plan to do so. But since the project has
taken off
I don't have two or three hours of spare time everyday to do it. I'll
still
be getting back to you it jusy take a little longer than usual. Thanks
for your
patience and understanding.
In the meantime and in between time, that's it. Another edition of
Wrestling Gamers United.
