1) WWF roster vs. Caw
**********************
As always, your input is extremely valued by the WGU and we have a new
survey
for you to answer at our website. We've gotten a lot of opinions from
gamers
about the importance of licenced wrestlers in a game and we'd like to
clear
up the matter if we can. It would appear that the vast majority of you
couldn't
care less about having WWF wrestlers in a game as long as you could
create
them as CAWs. What do you think? We want to know! Visit us at our web
site
http://www.WrestlingGamersUnited.com and tell us your opinion on the
matter.
2) A new voice at WWFWG.com
*************************
I'm very pleased to announce that I've been asked to join the staff of
WWFWrestlingGames.com as a weekly contributor. Mike Regan from WWFWG.com
has asked if I would be interested in writing a regular column about
the many
aspects of "The Perfect Wrestling Game" and I was only too happy to
accept.
It's a step in the right direction and now gamers like us will have
another
public forum in which to express our views to gamers and developers at
large.
Thanks Mike!
3) Our game development
***********************
As I announced last week, I have begun interviewing talented
animators and
game programmers for the purpose of developing the game we want
ourselves
instead of just waiting for a major developer to make it for us. I'm
pleased
to say I've recieved many applications from around the U.S. and Canada
and
the interviews are going well. I've met with some very passionate and
eager
individuals and hope to announce the final team in about a month. I'm
confident
that we will have a game on the drawing board and in production before
we see
a better one from any of the major developers. Once we work out the
details
and logistics we will have some preliminary announcements for you. I
can tell
you one thing, unlike other games where developers keep gamers in the
dark or
even lie about a game until it's actually released (what happened to
the
scaffold match and best CAW feature ever in LOW?) we promise to keep
you
informed about or progress every step of the way. Wondering what moves
will
be in the game or what match types we're working on? Just ask us!
4) Message Boards
******************
The message boards are a great place to promote WGU and educate
gamers about
what we're doing. But we don't have enough time in the day to
participate in
every discussion at every board. It would help out WGU a lot of you
could send
us a list of the different boards you visit regularily so we could stop
by and
promote WGU. Also, I'd like to publicly thank all of you who have
included the
WGU website address in your tags. It's a great thing you're doing for
our cause
and it's very much appreciated by me and everyone at WGU!
5) Publicity Stunt help
************************
WGU is planning on staging a publicity stunt at a major game
developer's head
office. If you'd like to get your picture in the newspaper and on our
web site
and you live in the Greater Vancouver area please email me at
wish@telus.net
6) The Big Boys
*****************
WGU is still waiting to hear from our contact at THQ. Hopefully we'll
hear
them sooner than they responded to my questions about my glitched No
Mercy cart.
And things are still good with the other big developer I mentioned last
news-
letter. The way it stands now we'll be getting a chance to make a
presentation
to them in a few months. It'll be our chance to get that ten minutes
with
a developer we've all been dying to get.
7) New WGU staff
******************
I'd like to welcome two new staff member to WGU. Les Tilden is an
avid gamer
who will be helping out with promotion and publicity at WGU. James
"Jethro"
Wishnowski will be taking over webmaster duties from me as I focus my
energy
on other WGU matters. He's the guy responsible for adding some color to
our
previously whiter-than-white website. Welcome aboard guys!
Well, that's it for this week. You'll be hearing from me next friday
with more
good news, I'm sure. Until then, keep sending in your emails and don't
forget to
spread the word about Wrestling Gamers United!
